Hi Hello!
I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for this amazing group of people. Y’all have made this journey so much fun, and I can't thank you enough for that. I don't want to jinx it, but I have a feeling that this new year will be a good one, and our community will grow stronger. So, thank you for taking a chance on me, and let's make 2024 a year to remember!
So, what would happen if everything actually works out? That's my New Year's theme – "What if it all works out?" I'm done with worrying about people's opinions, and I'm ready to embrace my true self with all its authenticity and vulnerability. And, of course, with all its “cringiness” because, after all, life is too short. So, what do you think? Are you ready to take the leap with me?
2024 Ins & Outs
Who really knows what 2024 is going to hold for all of us? In terms of Home Decor and Interior Design, however, I can give you some starting points below.
Ins:
Signature Home Scent & Playlist: Create a sensory retreat that truly represents you with a personalized fragrance and playlist. Let each scent and note tell your story and transform your space into an authentic experience.
Charming Chaos: Perfectly mismatched is perfectly in.
Sensory Delights: A focus on elements that please the senses - be it a scented candle, a soft throw, or the gentle sound of a curated playlist.
Nature Indoors: adding natural elements like wood, stone, and raw materials to the interior of a space. It allows you to bring the beauty of the outdoors inside your home
Intimate Soirees: Small, heartfelt gatherings that turn every meeting into a memorable experience.
Wellness Sanctuaries: Spaces in your home dedicated to wellness and self-care, because mental health is as important as aesthetic appeal.
Smart, Subtle Tech: Integrating technology in a way that supports, not dominates, your living spaces.
Luxury Home Wear: Because lounging at home deserves its own runway.
House of Cozy: Embracing the Danish art of coziness.
Outs:
Non-Stop Notifications: Because nothing ruins 'cozy' like the constant ping of emails.
Hanging onto toxic people: If they steal joy or distract from dreams, let go. If the connection doesn't come easy, let it be.
Doubt & Chaos: I have decided that I will be separating from this duo in 2023
Flashy, Fleeting Trends: Saying goodbye to impersonal, mass-produced items. Your home is a gallery. We're all about timeless decor.
Clutter Overload: The art of living doesn't include clutter. It's about curating, not accumulating.
Forced Aesthetics: Your home should reflect you, not a page from a magazine.
Over-Scheduled Living: Make room for spontaneity and relaxation in your carefully curated life.
Perfectionism: Embrace the wonky photo frames and the slightly off-center rugs. It's called character!
At the end of the day, what matters most is creating a space that brings you happiness. So, take these "Ins and Outs" with a grain of salt and lots of love.
Your Personal Designer
I wanted to let you know about a new service that I'm offering to subscribers of my newsletter. I'm going to be your personal designer and offer One-On-One design sessions.
This service lets you email/text/call in with any design questions and I’ll respond with a tailored, bespoke design plan, with shopping links and directions to guide you through the process of putting your space together.
The idea is to keep it straightforward and fast for you while still maintaining the bespoke curation of designing a space.
Keep a look out for the links next week, I’ll only be opening this service to a few so make sure to grab your space!
Top 10 ⭐️
These are my top 10 favorite purchases for the year that have improved my daily life and the cabin.
Heavy Duty Floor Duster Mop with Long Handle: Cleaning wood floors was turning into a full-time job. The solution? I bought a bigger mop, commercial size. At 3 ft, the wood floors can get that daily “once-over” in under 60 seconds now. Leaving me more time to panic clean other things…
Soular Therapy - Home Cologne: Better than any candle or home spray out there. My all-time favorite is the Hacienda Spray. It will transport you to a luxurious hotel vacation. Once you try it, you'll set yourself a new standard!
Tineco: This thing sucks up dirt like a black hole. I'm half convinced it might start pulling in nearby furniture if I'm not careful. Now if only it was actually self cleaning it would be at the top of my list.
Faux Fur Weighted Blanket: We had terrible colds right before Christmas and I swear we lived in these blankets. Perfect for those “I don't want to leave my couch” days.
GE Ice Machine: Once you've experienced nugget ice in your kitchen, you'll never want to go back. Consider yourself warned.
Mocca Master - Coffee's Best Friend (and mine): This little gem brews coffee that could probably solve all my problems. I haven't tested that theory yet, though.
Amazon Curtains Window Dressing Winners: They block out light, look chic, and didn't cost a fortune. What's not to love?
Canon G7X - Not for the Home, but Hey!: This camera is worth the hype. Turning the flash on instantly gives you that 90’s model look. It's worth every penny.
Santa Fe Incense Burner: We got pinon wood, and brought the scent of Santa Fe right into my living room. Instant mood booster!
Behr Designer Collection Paint: Because sometimes all a room needs is a little color therapy. And these colors are perfection.
And with that, it’s been a year (figuratively speaking), but 2024 holds all the promise and opportunities you could ask for; you just need to embrace the chaos and enjoy the journey. Because we’re all in this together.
Here’s to the New Year Cabinistas,
Peyton ❤️
