The April Edit
Pollen, Pie, and a Leopard Sofa
Blackberry key lime pie for breakfast. A missed FaceTime. A breaking news alert. Taxes. Late nights reading about pollen with a kind of personal vitriol that suggests I have absolutely no other responsibilities in this world.
Cabana magazine delivered. My son is currently obsessed with red-footed tortoises; we are deep in the research phase, his grandmother is on board, and I am outnumbered. Meanwhile, I’ve been shopping for an oversized cheetah-print lounge chair.
This is the part nobody posts about. The week isn’t exactly hard, just full. Full of things that matter and things that absolutely do not, and the strange fact that both can feel equally urgent at 11 pm on a Thursday.
I have a feeling you’ve had those days, too. The ones where you’re caught between the weight of the world and the specific shade of a reptile’s shell.

And since I have never learned the art of being nonchalant, you should know: I started writing because I had things I needed to say and nowhere that felt like home. Then you showed up. All of you. Now, this is the thing I look forward to every single week. Not the metrics, not the numbers on a dashboard, but this. The act of sitting down to write to you, like you’re already in the room.
The fact that we found each other in all this noise is the only part of this that makes sense to me. Some things are better felt than measured.
Life is short. I’m just really glad we’re spending a little of it here together.
Okay. Let’s get into it.
